What song would you pair with this artwork?
During a recent visit to MoMA, Iris Olympia paired Edward Hopper’s “Gas” with Manchester Orchestra and Phoebe Bridgers’s song “The Gold.”
“Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was forged in nostalgic lights at gas stations and among the evergreens of the island I called home. I had a secret boyfriend when I was 17—a guy my friends hated. I wanted to be seen by someone who didn’t have any idea who I was. Phoebe Bridgers has always captured the heartbreak of waning youth beautifully.”
