Get ready for a new #MoMAPhotoClub challenge!
In 1956 eighteen-year-old Ed Ruscha drove west from his hometown of Oklahoma City to attend art school in LA. Since then, the artist has continuously drawn inspiration from his everyday surroundings across a wide range of media.
Ruscha has photographed the streets of Los Angeles for over 50 years by mounting a motorized camera on the bed of his pickup truck. This edition of #MoMAPhotoClub is inspired by Ruscha’s photographs, presented in partnership with Getty.
Imagine you are making a documentary about the place where you live. What location would you want to photograph to capture its essence? How do its views, streetscapes, sidewalks, or buildings tell a story?
We can’t wait to see what you make! Share your photos with us using the hashtag #MoMAPhotoClub.
