When J.K. Rowling released Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, she revealed that she was done with the world of Harry Potter and wanted to move onto new projects. However, despite also having a series of popular crime novels under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith, she has never been very far from the boy wizard that made her famous. From websites and video games, through a sequel stage play and the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, Rowling has continued to be involved in the very heart of everything Harry Potter related. Now that is expanding into the world of TV with a new series from Max.
While it has only been a decade since the franchise came to an end of the big screen, the next few years will be spent starting the whole saga again in a long-from TV series that will once again adapt the novels of Rowling with an all-new cast and a much more in-depth story that will seek to be faithful to the novels, incorporating all of the elements that the movies were unable to include in their relatively short runtimes.
The very thought of the Harry Potter cast being renewed so soon immediately drew waves of dissent from many fans of the movies, and the ongoing issues with Rowling’s public image in the wake of her views on the transgender community did not exactly help to endear the idea to fans on social media.
