3- Peel and Stanley’s Murelles
With a coffee in hand, walk down Mansfield Street, then turn right onto the famous Sainte-Catherine Street.
First stop: Peel Street. Right behind the H&M store hides the first alley, newly transformed into a friendly public space. There you’ll find 2 magnificent murals by artist Rafael Sottolichio, a Montreal painter of Chilean origin. The alley is also filled with colorful furniture, which is perfect if you feel like taking a break.
Only a few minutes walk away, you’ll find the other alley on Stanley Street (north of Sainte-Catherine Street). Here too, you will be dazzled by the colorful fresco painted on the floor by artist Diane Roe. Easels highlighting the artist’s impressions are scattered around, as well as boxes of plants and flowers therefore creating an urban oasis atmosphere.
