More than 70 participating artists open their doors Dec. 2-3
The Nanaimo Arts Council will host the 25th Art Walk this weekend, showcasing the talents of more than 70 artists.
The annual event will run Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 3, noon4 p.m. The walk will see artists in a variety of mediums open their doors to the public and includes 23 stops of mixed studios, businesses and galleries.
“This important cultural event provides a unique opportunity to discover the talents of local artists while exploring the unique and vibrant businesses in Nanaimo’s downtown and Old City Quarter,” noted NAC’s website.
The City of Nanaimo will host two public art artist talks on Saturday; David Martinello’s ‘Compelling Agency’ at 1 p.m. at Lions Square Park at the corner of Wallace and Fitzwilliam Streets; and Curtis Grahauer’s ‘Millstone’ at 2 p.m. at Black Rabbit Kitchen, 321 Selby St.
